It’s sweet and endearing and I enjoyed it very much. Really who the heck would want to read a book like that? Marie decides to marry Alienore off to the worst man she can find – Colin, the Butcher of Berkhamshire. All she seemed to do with skitter around like a mouse.

Alienore has no desire to become the Butcher’s unfortunate wife-victim just to save evil stepmom some money, so she binds her breasts, steals her brothers’ armor, spurs, sword, and horse, momejt escapes. This book was bad. My favorite bit was after she accepted his proposal of marriage but asked to be wooed first.

And then the story is drawn out much longer than necessary with a “wooing” stage. A match made in heaven, that’s for sure During college, a chance encounter with a large library stack of romances left her hooked, gave her the courage to put pen to paper herself, and finally satisfied that need for a little bit of fantasy with a momeent lot of romance!

But once I got the hang of it, the story was entertaining.

And that wasn’t the worst thing. I kept reading she was such a courageous girl, but I saw none of that maybe a little at the end. This was not her best effort.

But I guess that without these characters acting supremely stupid, there wouldn’t have been much of a story for the author to tell. When I asked my mom to recommend her favorite book for me to read, she picked this one.
