As a child this was my favourite short story of all time, I can remember reading my ‘Mog’ stories over and over. A bit of a sad tale, but a nice happy ending! Scene of the Crime mystery fans. Mog is a forgetful mog the forgetful cat which the Thomas family see as forgetfuul nuisance as Mog is constantly unknowingly getting on the wrong side of people, except Debbie, mog the forgetful cat is the only exception.

She has a very absentminded nature and a childlike mind-set, which makes the reader feel sorry for her as do the children, Debbie and Nicky, from the story. But at breakfast time she takes her revenge when, mog the forgetful cat that cats have milk for breakfast and only have eggs as a treat, she climbs onto the dining table and eats Nicky’s egg.
